Kristin and Nate. These two have one of those wanderlust love stories that weave through phases in life. Meeting bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in their years at the University of South Carolina, growing together into their careers in the DC area. Leisure moments look like golfing, forever searching for the perfect beach and the perfect powder for skiing in the wintertime.

Hearing “Roma Fade” by Andrew Bird, you can feel the momentum of the vespa winding along Amalfi Coast cliffsides after a sun-soaked afternoon bathed in limoncello with your lover; perfect for opening up Kristin and Nate’s sunshine and citrus wedding day story.
Wedding Weekend Venue: Colleton River Club, Bluffton, SC
From the later evening bonfire, whiskey tastings, cigar bar, the raw bar during the cocktail hour, and a stunning sit-down dinner, Colleton River Club absolutely delivered. And their cocktail hour space inside is stunning, very elevated, chic meets traditional, such a lovely aesthetic.
Sporting sprawling golf grounds, beautiful magnolia trees, and idyllic views of the Port River Sound, Colleton River Club is stunning. From a logistics perspective, the Colleton River Club is a wedding day dream; the bridal parties are able to get ready on-location at the charming cottages on location (just steps from the main clubhouse, the things a wedding videographer’s dreams are made of!)
Let’s talk about how obsessed we are with Kristin’s dress(es.)
Kristin is the queen of style, and she chose (we all agreed) the most stunning dress we had ever seen in our lives.
This beautiful billowing Monique Lhuiller gown with dainty, elegant floral detailing, this dress was MADE for Kristin’s soul.
Cacky’s Bride Aid saint (some call her a bridal assistant) Catherine Pease was an absolute wedding dress Macgyver, all smiles and bright sunflower-glowing energy helping Kristin with last-minute touches with this darling dress (and did some seriously clever sewing solutions with those darling floral earrings Kristin was rocking; talk about a brilliant woman! We couldn’t thank her enough!)

Let’s Talk About The Soundscore.
In our creative process, I always ask for clients’ blessings to give me a creative greenlight to intuitively build the sound design and soundscore for their wedding day collection, and Kristin and Nate gave me the full thumbs up.
When I first talked with Kristin and Nate and heard their story, I got this feeling that they are on an everlasting journey of adventure, I wanted to kick off their wedding day story with a vibe that feels bohemian meets chic meets elevated. Hearing “Roma Fade” by Andrew Bird, you can feel the momentum of the vespa underneath you while winding along the steep cliffsides of the Amalfi Coast after a sun-soaked afternoon bathed in limoncello with your lover; I found it perfect for opening up Kristin and Nate’s sunshine and citrus energy.
Knowing Kristin and Nate just finished an incredible adventure in Italy the prior summer, I wanted to give them something with that flavor… Andrew Bird is a musician known for his vast creativity. Being a one-man show, he builds elegant loops and plays countless instruments in real-time, a musical genius.
When was the moment I fell in love with Kristin and Nate and their story together? Easy. The moment Kristin shared her wedding day crest featured her two Maine Coone kitties, Mango and Coco, that sealed the deal for me, and knew Kristin and Nate are my kind of people.
The Sentimentals Moments: Ruby Waters
For the softer moments of the day beginning, we went with Ruby Waters’ “Good Recipe” for the tender first-look moments with Nate, her father, and the girls. Those moments where you just want to feel it all leading up to walking down that aisle.
Reflecting on Kristin’s early sentiments of wedding day visions feeling warm and filled with joy — “Junk Food Chimney” by Ezra Bell was the perfect match. The song feels like their love: happy in the little moments, balanced in their energy together (Nate’s laid-back masculine to Kristin’s fiery sweet feminine), a touch of playful, appreciating the little things on this big adventure of life they’re on together.
QUEEN OF THE SUNSET: The Dress Made Of Feathery Dreams
As the sun began kissing the edge of the horizon, Kristin transformed into THE MOST FUN, FEATHERY QUEEN OF THE SUNSET in her Cult Gaia reception dress. This dress was meant for ultra slow-motion dances with the sun and the love of her life.
That sunset moment… “What You Do” by James Gillespie. The giddy energy of this moment - the sun setting, a sense of relief of all the big moments are DONE! And now we get to the party, we made it! I asked Kristin and Nate to just be playful, dance around together, enjoy that INCREDIBLE Cult Gaia dress made of feathery dreams, and have the moments for themselves. What we found at that moment was this amber sweetness, a comfort in the home, an effervescent joy perfectly embodied with Kristin throwing her arms up to the sky as Nate held her in his arms and twirled her around.
And of course, into the moody moments of the evening reception — Nice and Slow - The EP Version perfectly melts in your mouth as you can’t help but feel the gooey happiness of being on a dance floor surrounded by people who cherish you and are there to share that joy. Peach Bellini energy. The Evolution Party Band rocked into the night and those Signature golf hats were passed out, such a fun memento!

I gotta start with The Tornado Tamer (that is not what she is known for on ANY FRONTS but whatever we’re going with it), Holly Felts of Holly Felts Photography - all smiles, all positive, playful, can-we-be-best-friends inclusive energy - this woman and her team is brilliant and thrilled us sharing her INSANE TORNADO IN OKLAHOMA STORIES while we were enjoying dinner together. This Oklahoma City gal packs a major punch with her talent and stories. We could NOT get enough of her.

Sincerely Yours Events: Ten out of freakin’ TEN!
Our hats really come off for wedding planner and designer Emily DeLoach of Sincerely Yours Events. Savannah, GA Based, Emily has that O.G., this-aint-my-first-rodeo energy. This woman and her team are everything you could ever dream for in a wedding planner: strategic, detail oriented, thorough, makes sure it gets done RIGHT no matter what…we’re still fan-girling over her and her team. There were some logistics challenges this day, and I can’t think of a better wedding designer who could have ROCKED the day with such grace and such ease; an absolute rock star every bride just * hopes and prays * their wedding planner is on their wedding day.
Ten out of freakin ten, yall. Hire this incredible team right now.
