A PICNIC + BEACH DAY OUT ON SULLIVAN'S ISLAND // Where To Provision For Your Sullivan's Island Picnic

Let's start at the beginning. You’re planning a day out at the beach with your girls on Sullivan’s Island in Charleston, SC. Here’s our take for where to go shopping for a picnic mix, charcuterie board selection, and Frosé to-go on the way out your Sullivan’s Island beach day.

This is part of a multi-part series we created with the girls at Reagan Events— Reagan Kerr and her assistant Hannah Hunter, and myself, Shelby Ring of Ruby Riot Creatives wedding videography.

We love us some tasty snacks, some bougie cocktails, super vibey bars we can dress up or down in to feel super cute, and creating fun times with girlfriends, so here’s our take as late twenty-thirty-something Charleston locals on some of our favorite pre-dinner cocktail spots that are sure to be a crowd-pleaser for you and your girls getaway weekend in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Pickled Palate // A Mount Pleasant Old Village Hidden Gem On The Way Out To Sullivan’s Island

Hannah Hunter: The Pickled Palate in Old Village is on your way out there. And it is great for some sandwiches and salad. It's delicious. And it's in a little garden tucked away off the main road, and you would never know it's there.

Charcuterie And A Nice Bottle Of Wine // Caviar & Bananas Downtown On George Street

Reagan Kerr: If you want more meats and cheeses and maybe like a nice bottle of wine— Caviar and Bananas is great downtown. They also do sandwiches and salads as well, and you can call in a picnic provision basket.

The Best Dang Cheese And Snacks Selection: Goat. Sheep. Cow.

Reagan Kerr: Oh and you can’t forget about Goat. Sheep. Cow. (Also it’s worth going to their website just to see their adorable intro while their website loads.) Oh, such a favorite. I love Goat Sheep Cow. They would be great, and they could probably arrange a little picnic for you. They have amazing daily sandwich specials, charcuterie specials, amazing patê options, it’s really an amazing spread.

Shelby Ring:

Question: would that be something you’d want to call ahead to be like, “Let's put together an easy charcuterie board,” or is that more you come in and then they have a grab-and-go market area?

Reagan Kerr:

I think they would be willing to do either one. So if you didn't have the time to make the call, you could certainly go in, and they'll put it together for you.

The Daily On King Street // Farm To Table Vibes Fresh Grab-And-Go Section

Okay. That makes me think of The Daily as well. It’s a restaurant/cafe created by the team that created Butcher & Bee (another favorite dinner spot downtown!) They have that quick grab-and-grow selection if you're leaving from downtown.

And I shouldn’t be writing about this…

…but The Daily’s Pistachio Rose morning bun is the best dang pastry in Charleston (and they only sell a few dozen a day when they’re in season, so they’re always selling out.) That might be a good spot to stop and grab some local Charleston products and fresh bites for a Charleston beach picnic day.

Sullivans Board Co. // Cheeseboards. Delivered Directly To You On Sullivans Island

Hannah Hunter: I think there's also a new business, Sullivan’s Board Co — it’s a Sullivan's Island Cheese Board Company that delivers directly to you if you’re staying out on Sullivan’s Island. They can build a charcuterie, and you can bring it with you.

The Co-Op On Sullivans // Frosé To Go, And Instagram Debauchery

Reagan Kerr: The Co-op on Sullivan’s Island is another great beach day picnic provisioning spot, famous for its Frosé, makes sandwiches all day long. Also, side note — Their Instagram account is hilarious. They post a little too many male private parts on it. The founder of The Co-Op like the equivalent of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. He’s kind of like, “Long wait? Deal with it.” If you don't follow their Instagram account, it’s @CoopSullivans. It's wildly entertaining.
