This is part of a multi-part series we created with the girls at Reagan Events— Reagan Kerr and her assistant Hannah Hunter, and myself, Shelby Ring of Ruby Riot Creatives wedding videography.

I like the communal vibe. I think that's a really good choice for wanting to make a girls' getaway and not having to separate the group in hotel rooms. I like that. What else stands out?

The Dewberry For A Swanky Girls Getaway In Mid-Century Swagger

Hannah Hunter:

The Dewberry is so fun just because it's, I mean, you just walk in there. It's one of our favorite spaces. We'll just even have design days at Dewberry just because it's that just like all the senses catch on fire, the smell, your eyes. Like it's just very like little bougie, but also very comfortable. It's going to come at a higher price point.

Pro tip for your girls trip in Charleston: Try to stay within the historic district.

Hotel Emeline Downtown Charleston For The Emerald Eclectic Vibes [With Coffee, Bar, Brunch Built In!]

Reagan Kerr: As far as hotels go, Hotel Emeline, a newer hotel here, is a gem. It's Emerald colored everything, such a viiibbbee — it reminds me of SEWE (The South East Wildlife Exposition, the wildlife exposition here in Charleston- think like southern style meeting African safari vibes.) I mean, it's very iconic Charleston.

Shelby Ring: Yes! I loved when they first opened. They described Emeline as that eclectic aunt who’s a world traveler, and she’s always bringing back interesting things from her travels. Still, her roots are in the south with that southern hospitality welcoming energy. They do a great job — and they have Frannie, and The Fox as their restaurant that serves Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and really fun drinks, and they also have Clerks Coffee — the front space of the building used to be a bank, so they’ve played that up. It’s a great spot where many Charleston locals come in to work on their computers or hold meetings. They have a great selection of coffee and espresso drinks, canned Kombucha and plenty of puff pastry treats, quick flatbreads, breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods while they last.

The art's amazing. The design's amazing. The restaurant has a bar inside, and they also have outdoor space. So you can cozy it by fire if it's chilly like it is now. It's so cute. It's so so cute.

Have A Really Big Group? Guest House Charleston | Downtown Compounds For 25+ Person Groups

Guest House Charleston where to stay in Charleston for girls weekend

Reagan Kerr:

Guest House Charleston is really, maybe our favorite go-to for Airbnbs or private rentals. They have essentially built these compounds downtown and designed these homes impeccably. So I mean, talk about Instagram moments again, like you're going to want to photograph every square inch of this home. And the cost per bed is super competitive to just average hotels. They've added very lux details, like Schumacher fabrics, and very high-skill touches to the decor. I feel like you're getting so much more, and it's a more comfortable communal space for a group of women right in the heart of downtown.
